The Micronite Filters release ‘Chasing Ghosts’ album January 29, 2013 album release shows January 24 Oshawa, 25 Toronto, & 26 Peterborough
Oshawa rock and roll band The Micronite Filters will officially release their new album ‘Chasing Ghosts’ on January 29 on Get Bent Records.
The album release shows are January 24th at the Atria in Oshawa, 25th at the Bovine in Toronto, and 26th at The Spill in Peterborough. They will be joined by Toronto’s own Little Foot Long Foot, and Peterborough two-piece the Charming Ruins for all three shows.
The Micronite Filters have been rocking Ontario for a few years, bringing a heaviness to hip-shaking Mississippi blues that’s sure to get the whole room dancing and stomping, highly evident on last summer’s EP The Wrong Side of the Tracks (June, 2012).
For ‘Chasing Ghosts’, they traveled South to Mississippi to record with artist/producer Jimbo Mathus (The Squirrel Nut Zippers, Buddy Guy, the Tri-state Coalition). The new album captures the vibe of The South, the birthplace of blues and rock and roll, and will ‘appeal to all lovers of the ‘down and dirty’ grooves produced by the likes of The Black Keys and The North Mississippi Allstars, as well as a firm nod to the older bluesmen from the North Mississippi hill country”- Grahame Rhodes, Blues In The NorthWest.com
