Blues rock is not a super popular thing in Spain, but at their time Los DelTonos seemed to be an island in the desert. They become sort of popular in the early nineties.
After a promising debut record the guitarist and singer Hendrik Rover and his two colleagues in this trio made his best efort putting together a great bunch of power blues tunes plus an Albert Collins cover. The record makes your feet move from beginning to end.
Being a blues-rock record, it has a few more things inside: some southern, some twang and a little funk touches. Hendrik´s playing is really versatile, although he´s not the flashy type of player, he pretty much can play any style. His voice is not the best one for the style, but he compensates it with a nerve and funny stories in the lyrics.
The two other guys cover perfectly their spots but do not demand attention, in the same fashion as Double Trouble did for Stevie Ray Vaughan.
After this record their music will evolve to other styles, so this can be cosidered their blues testament. (reeagbo)
