The Ria Reece Band 2013 The Ria Reece Band


The Ria Reece Band is old school Rhythm & Blues. Powerful and soulful, Ria Reece's haunting vocals take center stage. A great live act, this Montreal band's energy and passion is felt consistently throughout every performance. The band's most notable influences are the bluesy sounds of Etta James and Koko Taylor, the soulful sounds of Sam Cooke and Al Green. Toronto born Ria Reece has been singing professionally since February 2011 and by September 2011, the Ria Reece Band was Formed. Having only played a handful of shows in the Montreal area, the band was invited to Gatineau-Hull's 16th edition of Blues Viree Borealis, November 2012.

Recently, in July 2013, the band was well received by fans at the prestigious Quebec Summer Festival, a major player on the music festival circuit. The Ria Reece Band also had the opportunity to play in several renowned venues such as the Upstairs Jazz Bar in Montreal, Pointe Claire in Calistoga, Little Imperial in Quebec City and the St. Lawrence Bar Blues in Repentigny.

About their self-titled debut album, the Blues Underground Network dubbed the Ria Reece Band "as good as any female fronted Canadian Blues band out there, maybe even a little better."

Released on the 16th of August 2013, The Ria Reece Band's self-titled debut album has been spinning on several college/community radio stations across Canada. The Album Has Made the Folk/Roots/Blues top 10 charts on CHRW 94.9FM ON London, ON Kingston CFRC 101.9FM, 101.9FM CFUV Victoria BC, made ​​the Top 30 on CJSF 90.1FM Burnaby BC, and was the featured album for August Today it's the Blues CKIA 88.3FM in Quebec City.
