Mick Abrahams 1991 All Said And Done
Genre: Blues
Rate: 320 kbps CBR / 44100
Time: 01:04:36
Size: 147,83 MB
Mick Abrahams' return album, "All Said and Done", is as fine as anything he has ever done. This is an excellent blues album, with fourteen tracks comprised of seven tunes written by Mick (two of which were collaborations with Gordon 'Mississippi' Murphy), two new arrangements of traditional pieces, and five covers of older blues pieces.
The pieces written by Mick are quite good, starting with "Road Roller" which opens the album. Then there is the absolutely fantastic "All Tore Down" which is probably my favorite tune that Mick has ever done. Another noteworthy piece is "Dear Jane" which is very similar to "Dear Jill" from his days in Blodwyn Pig. Another great piece is the title song of the album "All Said and Done", which is one of the two pieces which Gordon Murphy co-wrote.
While Mick's pieces are very strong, one cannot ignore the cover tunes like "Black Night" by Jessie Mae Robinson, "Let Me Love You Baby" by Willie Dixon, and "I Wonder Who" by Alexis Korner. There are also two new arrangements of classic blues pieces. The first is "Billy The Kid" (originally by Reverend Andrew Jenkins), and the second is an amazing 11+ minute version of "Cat's Squirrel" (originally by Charles Isaiah Ross) which has become Mick's signature piece.
On this album, Mick plays with Andy Pyle (bass guitar), Bruce Boardman (piano), Clive Bunker (drums and percussion), Dave Lennox (piano), Dick Heckstall-Smith (sax), Gordon Murphy (sax), Jim Rodford (bass guitar), Nigel Pegrum (drums and percussion), and Pete Fensome (bass guitar). (Dave_42)

Julian Sas has already been favourably compared to such blues luminaries and guitar giants like Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix and Gary Moore.
'A Smile to My Soul', the second Julian Sas album was released in 1997. All songs were written during the 'Boogie-Down-The-Road' tour of 1996. The band had grown tighter and better. Most of these songs were the result of jamming along live on stage.

Silver Travis 2005 One Monkey Don't Spoil The Show
Genre: Rock
Rate: 160 kbps CBR / 44100
Time: 00:47:04
Size: 53,85 MB
Members of the Silver Travis Band have experienced more of the ups and downs of music than the crescendo of lead guitarist Randall Calvert's hot licks.
Their name was adopted by mistake, and they took a 23-year break from performing before recording their first CD, released by Mountain Records.
Even the CD's name hints at obstacles they have overcome. "One Monkey Don't Spoil the Show" is a mix of Southern rock, country and blues that band members call their unique sound.
They say the setbacks have only made them stronger.
In 1981, lead singer Rick Cash, lead guitarist Randall Calvert, bass guitarist Joey Parrish, drummer Mike Satterfield and guitarist Steve Harvey formed the band.
Most were teenagers, and they soon decided on a name to honor the memory of a Civil War general. Through a misunderstanding, they chose Travis, thinking it was the name of Robert E. Lee's horse, and they threw in the color, silver, to dress it up a little. "Then we found out that Robert E. Lee's horse was Traveller. But it was too late. We already had T-shirts printed," Calvert said.
Silver Travis has an extended and combined list of performers they have taken the stage with or opened for, including Marshall Tucker Band members, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, the Toy Caldwell Band members, Tommy Crain with the Charlie Daniels Band and Bonnie Bramlett.
More information on the band and CD that contains its original music is available at www.silvertravis.com. (Janet Spencer - Spartanburg Herald Journal Jun 10, 2006)

The Bluescasters 2009 Live
Genre: Blues
Rate: 320 kbps CBR / 44100
Time: 01:14:03
Size: 169,34 MB
Album Notes
The Bluescasters first came together in the summer of 2004, formed by experienced players who had shared musical experiences throughout their pasts in various combinations within other bands. Each musician has a wide range of influences and share a common bond in their love for live performance. From the start, the focus has been on creative song writing featuring real life stories, in-the pocket pulsing rhythms, melodic solos, and vocal harmonies, all loosely wrapped in the blues genre.
After five years of performing together, two studio albums behind them, and having heard repeated requests from their audience, the band felt it was time to put the real deal on record. On June 27, 2009 in an intimate setting and in front of some wild and crazy Michigan pub-crawlers sprinkled with family and friends, The Bluescasters cast away the cold studio environment and poured real emotion and sweat into these 16 original songs. Because each band member has played in multiple combos including rock, blues, jazz, R & B, and even bluegrass bands, the push/pull dynamic resulting from blending their varied backgrounds and individual tastes is what has lead to the sounds you will hear on this disc. With WEMU radio host Michael Jewett and Michigan's own Jesse Sinatra kicking off the evening, Guy Hollerins nightclub explodes into the raw and powerful kind of blues Bluescasters' fans have come to expect. So pour yourself a beverage of choice, put this disc in the stereo, and by all means, crank up the volume a bit...it's time for everyone to find out what The Bluescasters are all about.

Dutch Tilders 1976 Working Man
Genre: Blues
Rate: 320 kbps CBR / 44100
Time: 00:41:39
Size: 95,27 MB
Singer, guitarist, harmonica player and songwriter Matthew "Dutch" Tilders has been one of Australia's foremost blues and roots performers since the 1960s. He is one of the many prominent Australian musicians who came to this country during the era of post-WWII migration; as his nickname implies, Dutch was born in the Netherlands in 1941.
In 1976, having only heard Dutch's recordings, B.B. King assumed that he was black. Dutch and Brownie McGee became good friends simply because Browney believed that the Dutchman was a genuine bluesman, regardless of his racial origins.
Dutch's third LP, WORKING MAN (Eureka, 1976) featured another all-star backing group -- blues harp maestro Jim Conway (Captain Matchbox), Kerryn Tolhurst and John Bois (Country Radio, Dingoes), Ray Arnott (Spectrum), and Jeff King (Foreday Riders).

Matthew Stubbs 2008 Soul Bender
Genre: Blues
Rate: 207 kbps VBR / 44100
Time: 00:37:11
Size: 53,60 MB
Album Notes
Soul Bender is a tasty collection of original instrumentals featuring Matthew Stubbs' expressive electric guitar. Matthew plays to serve his songs, rather than using them as a vehicle to show hot licks. His emotional phrasing leaves space for the band to respond most guitar players can say the words "less is more," but few deliver. Matthews' guitar sings Blues stories over his band's tight, snappy Memphis R&B featuring "Sax" Gordon. Rare and refreshing, Soul Bender sets Matthew Stubbs apart from most of his peers.
Blues guitarist and VizzTone partner Bob Margolin Offers "Now I know what it might have sounded like if Freddie King had recorded his classic instrumentals in Memphis with the Bar-Kays or at Hi Records. This is the CD I'd choose to keep me rockin' instead of noddin' on a long drive to my next gig. And Matthew's guitar would inspire me -- he plays stories, not riffs. His tone and touch don't copy any other specifc guitar player and his guitar rings and sings clearly. He sets the bar high."
Soul Bender is a sensual soundtrack to carefree good times, delivering clever melodies, improvised solos, creative arrangements, and non-stop hip grooves.Recognize echoes of Blues,R&B, and Surf Music, all blended perfectly into the mix. Matthew's wordless songs evoke your own memories and feelings. 25-year-old Matthew Stubbs had great success leading his own band in New England, winning the Boston Blues Society's Blues Challenge in 2003 and placing third in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.Splitting his time since between the Northeast and California, he worked, played, and grew with Racky Thomas, Brian Templeton, Michelle Wilson, Janiva Magness,John Nemeth, and Lynwood Slim.

JR Band 2007 www.jrband.com
Genre: Rock
Rate: 224 kbps CBR / 44100
Time: 00:48:01
Size: 76,86 MB
When you listen to this third JR Band-album, you hear more feeling, more emotion, more groove in the songs. Although music of the JR Band is Rock 'n' Roll at its best, J(an) R(ijbroek) puts his full soul in the 9 songs. Not surprisingly though that this record is dedicated to his friends who passed away.
Great rockers like "Baby Get Down" and "Nothing To Loose" are present, but also listen to the simplicity of "At The End Of The Day": a 7 minutes-song in which JR sings with restrained passion. A great slow blues with a steamy, swampy theme, almost ready to relax! And listen to the the Richie Sambora-rocker "If God Was A Woman", sung by Peter Cook in duet with JR, as well as the Neil Diamond-cover "Love On The Rocks" also sung by Peter Cook. JR decided to put them on the album because they're classics from the JR Band gigs, and so always were played live. They do the album very good.
"For Absent Friends" is written in the studio and is a last farewell to their friends who passed away. And what a contrast: Lee Clayton's melancholy "A Little Cocaine" is an almost Amsterdamlike song with it's accordeon. It's something JR always wanted to record and he did it very well!
Heavy guitars in "I Wanna Make Love To You" and again in duet with Peter Cook, they give some power! To end with "Come Rain Come Shine". A hommage to the fans: "Thanks for the support and see you at our gigs!" With their new drummer Franky "Mr. T.N.T." the JR Band hasn't lost anything of their power.
In my opinion this album is more mature than "the real McCoy", their previous album. So, it took a long time to have the new one in my hands but it's more than worth it!! (Clemens Steenweg)

Tomás Doncker Band 2013 This Is Tomás Doncker Band’s Howlin’ Wolf EP*
NYC ARTIST TOMAS DONCKER PAYS TRIBUTE TO HOWLIN' WOLF, BRINGS "GLOBAL SOUL" TO THE MASSES
New York soul artist Tomas Doncker is a man with an uncompromising mission. He is determined to spread something he calls "Global Soul" on a worldwide scale. Inspired by numerous sources including East and West Africa and the Carribean, Doncker describes "Global Soul" as "The sound of our collective conscious. The unified rhythm of heart beats creating a positve, spiritually uplifting force for good. Musically speaking it is not genre specific, but in fact genre inclusive. It is the best of what we have to offer to each other, from Brooklyn to Ethiopia, and everywhere in between."
He has been a mainstay on the NYC music scene for over 20 years, having worked with an A-list of iconic musicians including Yoko Ono, Bonnie Raitt, and Meshell Ndegeocello. In 2010, Doncker brought his "Global Soul" sound to China as a headlining act at the Shanghai Folk Festival in front of an audience of over 100,000 as part of the Shanghai World Expo.
Doncker's latest release is a heartfelt tribute to blues legend Howlin' Wolf titled "The Tomas Doncker Band's Howlin' Wolf E.P.", to be released June 10 through his own True Groove Records.
About the E.P, Tomás says "The idea of doing a project focusing on the legacy of Howlin' Wolf (and Classic Blues in general) had been bouncing around for awhile. The Blues is the heart of "Global Soul" and the opportunity to feature David Barnes (Harp) was something we were really excited about. When the "Diablo Love" Project was presented to me by Alfred Preisser (award winning director) it seemed like the obvious thing to do. Besides,Who doesn't like Howlin' Wolf?"
Legendary harp player David Barnes adds "In my mind , Howlin' Wolf is the John Henry of the Blues: A musical giant of mythic proportions, he commanded nothing but awe and respect while demanding it with (a handful of stage antics aside) nothing but dignity. It is a profound experience to join a Blues continuum through Hubert, to Wolf & the Chicago Greats, all the way back to Charlie Patton and beyond. In this way and through these efforts, the Blues shall continue moving ever forward."
Joining Tomas's movement on the EP are harp player David Barnes, pianist Nick Rolfe, guitarist James Dellatacoma, bassist Josh David and drummer Damon Duewhite.
Not content to stay in the studio, Tomas is bringing "Global Soul" to the big stage. He is booked for 11 feature performances at 2013's NYC Summer Stage concert series. Visit Tomas Doncker at www.tomasdoncker.net and download the new EP at http://tomasdonckerband.bandcamp.com/album/howlin-wolf-ep.

Genre: Rock

review Bruce Eder
Mick Abrahams' first formal solo album is more focused on blues and blues-rock, and far less on jazz, than his work with Blodwyn Pig, and is a better record for it. For first-time listeners, much of this record will recall Clapton's first post-Cream solo LP, Eric Clapton, in its generally laid-back sound and the presence of a fairly strong country blues influence. Abrahams' vocals here are a little more mournful than soulful -- his playing (especially when he picks up an acoustic guitar) is up to his usual standard, however, and Ritchie Dharma's drumming is dizzying in its speed and complexity.
