In 1983 - after "Quinella" - ARS went back into the studio to record another album for CDB-Records. A couple ot the songs are said by insinders to be some of the best work ARS had done. But CBS wanted to change out some songs, and creative differences led to the entire album being shelved and never released. (http://southern-records.de)

Review by Jim Allen
Singer/guitarist Tommy McCoy has worked with worked with musicians from both the Allman Brothers Band and Stevie Ray Vaughan's band, so it should come as no surprise that his own music seamlessly mixes straight-up blues with a touch of Southern rock. The title of this album refers to the presence of Vaughan's classic Double Trouble rhythm section, Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton, who provide an unshakeable foundation for McCoy's soulful vocals and stinging guitar work here.

Chris Wilson & His Shameless Pickups 2009 Second Life
Genre: Rock
Rate: 320 kbps CBR / 44100
Time: 01:07:02
Size: 153,30 MB
Guitarist and multi instrumentalist Chris Wilson, the ex-singer of the best-remembered line-up of San Francisco's cult band The Flamin' Groovies, is back with a solo album, his first for more than a decade. He’s not been idle in the intervening years - he’s continued to work with London’s own cult 60s revivalists, The Barracudas - but this is Chris back out under his own name again. And about time, too, if Second Life is any indication of what’s been brewing.
Anyone familiar with the Groovies and Barracudas will know what to expect from Second Life - chiming 12-string guitars, a pinch of rock ‘n’ roll, a hint of folk and a large helping of British Invasion gusto. These elements are all once again present [and correct] but there’s a slightly different balance to, say, the Groovies’ Shake Some Action or the Barracudas’ Meantime albums. This has helped keep the formula fresh while also maintaining its immediacy. Let’s just say that old fans won’t be disappointed.
Of the 12 tracks the standouts are opener 'All the Action' - a thumping slice of guitar hooks and big drums - 'Shake that Feeling' - driving 12 string guitars - and 'Under the Power Lines' - a ‘lost’ ’66 Dylan number in every respect bar one, authorship. Quieter moments are provided by Chris’s ballad 'Never Love Again', while the saxophone on 'Sweet Deceit' adds a 'Baker Street' feel to one of the album’s more heartfelt numbers.
Special mention must go to Chris’s band, The Shameless Pickups. The keyboards of Andy Thomas really make some of the songs come alive, especially his Hammond work on 'Set Free', while guitarist and bass player Anthony Clark anchors things down with a solid groove and the odd fancy lick. Drum duties were shared by Andy Woodard and Greg Paulett, both masters of the big beat and both first class players - check out 'Blaze Away' for some driving drumming as proof.
The producer was Dick Coppen [ex of Tenpole Tudor and King Kurt] who clearly knows a thing or two about getting things sounding right - each song on Second Life crackles with vitality and warmth, which really helps make the 12 tracks work as a unified whole.
Second Life isn’t going to change the musical landscape - there’s no revolution here - but the album delivers in more lasting ways. By eschewing fads and fashions in favour of time-honoured rock and roll formulas Chris Wilson has delivered a great album of classic proportions. This one’s a keeper... Ife Mora 2013 Detroit Blues (video)
Alt-rock singer-songwriter Ife Mora captures the true spirit of her hometown in her new music video “Detroit Blues”. “Detroit Blues” is just the latest single from her sophomore album Fire Inside Me, which is described as a masterful blend of powerful vocals and skill for narrative songwriting. The songstress’s songs travel the country, painting portraits of life in New York, Detroit and other psychic landscapes of America.
The gritty video for “Detroit Blues” is perfectly in tune with the down and dirty nature of the blues song. It shows Ife sweaty in a mechanic shop, while images of abandoned houses and a broken metropolis are streamed across the screen. The video is a very real depiction of the hardships Detroit is facing. However, Ife wants us to get a feeling of hope from all of the beautiful people who are surviving and fighting for the rise of a grand new City.
Ife knew in advance that she wanted to shoot the video for "Detroit Blues" in her hometown because of what the song represented. She says, “Detroit has always been the foundation for my love of music and has given me a very tough skin to be able to survive hardships in life and endure a tough business like the music industry. ‘Detroit Blues’ is all about a woman who can survive anything and look good doing it because of this historical and complex city she is from.”

After Tea 1970 Jointhouse Blues
Genre: Progressive Rock
Rate: 320 kbps CBR / 44100
Time: 00:50:18

This outstanding album has long bluesy numbers, and high quality improvisations. As well as heavy numbers like Joint House Blues, there are also softer songs.
This legendary band were originally formed in 1967 by members of Dutch pop act The Tee Set, as well as future Spencer Davis Group guitarist Ray Fenwick. By 1970 they had undergone numerous changes in their line-up and musical approach, as well as hassles relating to a dope bust, and this lost classic stands in stark contrast to their earlier hits. A gritty collection of tough blues-rock workouts, it’s sure to please fans of early 70s hard rockers such as Led Zeppelin, Free, Savoy Brown and Leaf Hound. (http://www.theraremusicshop.com)

The Devil In California 2013 Demo Tracks
The Devil In California is the brainchild of Eddie Colmenares, who had recently been playing drums for Bay Area favorites Electric Sister. Eddie had been wanting to create a harder rocking band with more of a southern flavor, and after ES went on Hiatus, he took his chances running an ad locally to start putting a band together. Friends of Jamie Cronander saw the ad and thought the guitarist had put it out, since it also sounded like something he would write. When inquired about why he was putting a band together and not telling anyone, Jamie's interest was piqued and he contacted Eddie. And that was the start of The Devil In California.
The band itself assembled fairly quickly, and with top-notch talent. Jamie brought in Matt Stewart on bass and Eddie brought in local singer Tony Malson. They had 5 songs written within weeks, and started lining up shows. There was only one piece missing...
A search for another guitarist to round out the band had been fruitless, and The Devil In California was a reluctant 4 piece for the time being. They finally started recording their demo with Snake (formerly of Skinlab and Re:Ignition) who immediately took a liking to the music. After Snake parted ways with a band he was playing with, both parties agreed that he would be the perfect replacement. And the band was complete.
In the short period of time The Devil In California has been a band, they have played 4 shows - including a great showcase under a different name - and their first official show where they played to a raging crowd and sold half of their merchandise. The band will continue to move forward with bigger and better things for 2013 and beyond.

Review by Scott Yanow
This CD is a rocking session most notable for the strange voice of Preacher Boy, who makes Louis Armstrong sound like a tenor. Preacher Boy (listed as playing various guitars, mandolin, bass guitar, mellotron, banjo, accordion, organ, piano, melodica, corn whiskey jug, tamborine, washboard, trumpet, wrench and egg) is joined by a colorful and versatile group for a set of originals. Listeners who can get used to the leader's very raspy bullfrog voice (which dominates the music) will find this spirited program of rockish blues to have some moments of interest.

The Juke Joints 2010 Going To Chicago!
Genre: Blues
Rate: 320 kbps CBR / 44100
Time: 00:51:38
Size: 118,04 MB
When Juke Joints leadsinger/drummer Peter Kempe visited the 2008 Chicago Blues Festival, he was so impressed with Eddie "The Chief" Clearwater's performance there, that he simply had to have a word with him after his show. This resulted in an invitation to their Kwadendamme Blues Festival in 2009. Eddy fired on all cylinders and The Juke Joints excelled as his backing band. This cooperation led to mutual enthusiasm, more shows around Europe and the determination to record together as soon as possible. The contact with Eddy Clearwater, whose latest (Alligator Records) album 'West Side Strut' was recorded in the Rax Trax Studios with renowned producer Ronnie Baker Brooks, opened up the doors to that same studio for The Juke Joints and in June 2010 they made the long-awaited trip to the home of the blues, Chicago. There they recorded what surely must be The Juke Joints' magnum opus, with a collection of songs that of course includes plenty of the high energy rhythm 'n' blues, and shuffles and boogies that have earned them so much praise. However, there are also ventures up, until now, un-trodden paths.
Stand out tracks include "Stax Sound", which has that inimitable Stax soul groove that Peter Kempe experienced when visiting the legendary Stax studio. There is a heartbreaking ballad, "Goodbye Baby", with some beautiful acoustic guitar and driven on by a massive Hammond organ sound, a track that will no doubt enthuse large, lighter-toting audiences. Guitarist Michel Staat shows his wizardry in the enthralling slow blues "Bad Bad Feeling" and "Strollin' Down Lincoln Av." is a jazzy instrumental, highlighting Sonny Boy van der Broek's awesome talents on the chromatic harp.
SPECIAL GUESTS
Female blues guitar slinger Ana Popovic shines on slide on "Make A Stand" which evokes fond memories of John Lee Hooker. Absolutely top-notch is the closing track "Going To Chicago", penned by Ronnie Baker Brooks especially for this album, with Eddy Clearwater really letting loose on electric guitar. Producer Brooks belts out some great guitar solos here as well, and provides solid support on vocals and rhythm guitar.
A highly diverse album it has become indeed, which is to be released worldwide and which should win The Juke Joints global recognition as one of the most energetic rock rollin' blues bands around. (http://www.thejukejoints.com/)
