Ah, the delectable Ruby Starr.
I loved her with Black Oak Arkansas and Grey Ghost, (and to a lesser extent with Grey Star).
She hasn't quite found her own voice yet on this early album, the Janis Joplin influence is just a little too strong.
"Looking Out At Tomorrow" points the way forward and is a killer song.
I wish someone would release the album she apparently recorded with Blackfoot in the early '70's.
They were her backing band for about a year!
It's a shame she didn't record more material during her short life.
R.I.P. Ruby.
The Friggah
The Friggah do you know the name of this album. Could not find any information about an album with Ruby Starr and Blackfoot
The album was never released.
The tapes must be out there somewhere, but it remains un-issued since it was recorded in the early 1970's.
I think Ruby was under contract to one label at the time and Blackfoot were signed to another, so the album went into limbo.
:(
