Support Rate Your Music Through Indiegogo Campaign!

Sonemic, Cinemos, and Glitchwave are three new websites focused on discovering music, films, and video games. These sites are the next generation of Rate Your Music. Collectively, they are named the Sonemic network.

Our mission is to build and maintain incredibly detailed music, film and game databases - and then, to provide as many ways as possible to dive into these databases and discover the best albums/songs/films/games from every angle.

What's the best French-language rock release with electronic influences? Greatest console RPG of the 00s set in space? These sites are designed with the goal of answering any question that can help you find something new to watch, play, or listen to.

If you aren't familiar with our work - we are the team behind rateyourmusic.com, the comprehensive music database and community. This project is about building and launching a vastly-improved version, as well as a film- and game-equivalent.

For those who already use Rate Your Music regularly, you will love these new sites. We've listened to your feedback and have been working on the most requested improvements, including the addition of 7 of the 10 most requested features.

The final step of launching the Sonemic network is building servers and infrastructure, contracting some non-development tasks, and committing to a final development cycle. This last phase requires a considerable amount of money to put everything into place, and we need your help! Please consider being a part of our launch by giving in this campaign.

Please check out the campaign and help out if you can; every small donation helps!

Tomás Doncker 2015 The Mess We Made

Doncker is a world renown blues artist most often associated with the late 1970's No Wave scene in New York City. He's now putting his years of talent to work to give all of us a glimpse into the bitter realities of modern America.

The message has been getting through to the masses thus far, receiving critical acclaim from the Huffington Post, Contact Music, Louder Than War, and many others.

Doncker says of The Mess We Made: “It all started on The day of the Charleston Massacre. Given the fact that the recent "Road to Charleston" was emotionally taxing enough for me (aka:Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Ferguson, Eric Garner, Baltimore - not to mention some of the less publicized events around the country and the world), the heinous events which occurred on June 17, 2015 pushed me over the edge. I was overwhelmed with rage, hatred, confusion and disillusionment. I had no place to put these feelings. I had no idea how to process them. So, in a selfish attempt to maintain my own sanity I did the only thing I could do -- write about it. By Sunday, June 21, I had written 4 new songs. Within ten days I had recorded the 8 songs that would become The Mess We Made.”

Yes,It does feel like I've only put
a band-aid on this bullet wound,
a sonic salve to temporarily ease
the sting. Maybe one day the bleeding will stop...Maybe...
One day...
(Tomás Doncker NYC, 2015)

The Bob Lanza Blues Band 2015 Hero To Zero

Genre: Blues
Time: 00:45:55

United States

Bob Lanza above all else is a Bluesman and “From Hero To Zero!” features the stinging blues guitar work we have grown accustomed to from the New Jersey native. On this disc, Lanza really demonstrates his significant song writing ability. The title track “From Hero To Zero!” chronicles the ups and downs of a Bluesman’s life. Additionally Bob showcases a rich, perfect blues voice with which he tells his tales. Bob has a story to tell and he delivers it in style!

For his debut on the Connor Ray Music Label Lanza did most of the recording in his home state and then traveled to Texas to work with fellow label mate and renowned harpman Steve Krase. The CD also features tremendous work from Randy Wall (Trudy Lynn band) on keys and organ with a special cameo appearance from Trudy Lynn on background vocals.

Stranded Cruiser 2015 Pretty, Fantastic

Whitby Garage-punk band Stranded Cruiser are officially releasing their debut album 'Pretty, Fantastic' on October 30th. An album release show is coming in November, details on their way soon.

Taking a little taste of punk and rock 'n' roll, the band has been refining garage music since 2011. Most notably, Stranded Cruiser’s performances release aggression and rage in an unapologetic manner. Not everything can be blissful and there needs to be people to yell about it.

Stranded Cruiser has been steadily building a following in the local independent music scene for almost five years due to the support of an audience sharing similar DIY ideals. The band continues to captivate audiences throughout Toronto and the GTA with its raw power.

'Pretty, Fantastic' is an album capturing several years of blood, sweat and tears for Stranded Cruiser. The energy evident throughout reinforces their crazy and wild attitude on stage. Opening the album is the catchy, guitar-riff based ‘Shark Tank’, which criticizes the state of modern music with pained melodies over a sporadic rhythm section. 'Fuck'n Real' seizes the youthful audience and swings them through soft verses and waves of noise in the chorus. Songs like ‘Another Misery’ and ‘Mother Abbey’ are classic punk rock that give you that familiar teenage angst feel. It's easy to identify the influences of Pixies, Fugazi, Cage the Elephant, and Iggy Pop on this album. Stranded Cruiser has tweaked the garage rock formula just enough to sound new again, and there stage show takes it to a whole new level.
