Silver Creek has been described as “Northern Fried Rock and Soul”, and is an Ottawa supergroup consisting of Shawn Tavenier (vocals, guitar), Anders Drerup (guitar, vocals), Jeff Rogers (piano, organs, vocals), Mark Laforest (Bass), and Shane McEwan (drums).

The band members are pros … music is what they do professionally day in, day out. They have played across Canada, including the big stage at the Ottawa Bluesfest opening for Blue Rodeo. Silver Creek's debut record is an ambitious full length journey into a the nostalgic realm of Southern rock and roll. Drawing heavily from influences that include The Marshall Tucker Band, The Black Crowes, The Rolling Stones and Canada's own Blue Rodeo, About Time is a warm and heartfelt attempt to capture a modern look at classic sound.

The songs on the record are simple compositions that convey fundamental truths of the human experience. Topics of love, heartache, soulful summertime musings, and the cold foreboding Canadian winter mix with heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies to shape what the Ottawa Citizen called "a solid and rollicking debut."
